The 18-hole "Nonesuch River" course at the Nonesuch River Golf Club facility in Scarborough, Maine features 6,300 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. Designed by Thomas Walker, the Nonesuch River golf course opened in 1968. Dan Hourihan manages the course as the Owner. I like the course.
All types of groups find their way to Nonesuch. The course tends to be in good shape, but there are a few chronic wet spots. There are holes that seem to be on top of each other like 7 through 9 and 11 and 17, where yelling 'fore' is commonplace. There are some good holes out there along with some funky target holes.
The 203-acre facility features a meticulously maintained 18-hole public championship golf course, a modern 2,500 square-foot clubhouse, a full-size practice range and two putting greens, golf academy, and an experienced, friendly, and professional staff. The 6,300-yard, par 70 layout was designed by Tom Walker of Golf Design Studio.
You can see many holes from the clubhouse area and I have noticed you can always see an assorted of golfers out on those hole. Sometimes you see a pocket of seniors playing the forward tees and then some good players hitting from the tips. There may be a cluster of women followed by some tourists slashing away.

I like the course. Challenging enough for me without being a chore to get a decent score. Greens are very nice. Staff was outstanding from the person in the pro shop to the maintenance crew. One of the mowing guys helped me understand the layout of a fairway. Bring your bug spray if you are playing early.
