To maintain certification, certified athletic trainers must obtain seventy five hours of medically related continuing education credits every three years and adhere to a code of ethics.
50 CEUsThe BOC requires ATs to earn 50 CEUs per two-year certification period (ATs certified in 2020 only need 25 CEUs to re-certify). Ten of these hours must be in evidence-based practice (EBP). ATs certified in 2020 are required to complete five EBP hours as part of their required 25 CEUs.
