60+ College Advantage Program The College Advantage Program enables Pennsylvania residents age 60 and older to take courses tuition-free at California University of Pennsylvania. Older Pennsylvanians may earn credits toward a bachelor's or master's degree, or take classes for personal or professional development.
The pass/fail privilege is limited to one course per semester; only free electives may be taken on a pass/fail basis. Free electives may not be used to satisfy major, core, cognate, or general education (including distributive) requirements.

The Senior Citizen Program allows retired Pennsylvania residents to attend West Chester University tuition free on a SPACE-AVAILABLE BASIS. To qualify, the student must be retired, at least 60 years old, and have been a Pennsylvania resident for at least a year. Students may enroll as either degree or non-degree students and may audit or take courses for credit. The program does not include internships, independent study, individualized instruction, student teaching, thesis, seminar, or any similar course requiring extra faculty compensation for the additional enrollment.
Here are a few important points for you to know before you submit your non degree application: 1 You will need to submit your date of birth, mailing address and your email address on the application. 2 Once you submit your online application you will receive an email notification almost immediately. The email will be sent to the address you supplied on your application. 3 Your online application will be processed and you will then receive a second email notification. This second email notification may take as much as 24 hours. It will include important instructions about how to search the class schedule and scheduling your class, billing information, and most importantly, your WCU ID number.
Senior Citizen students may not register for courses prior to the beginning of classes. They must attend the first meeting of the class (es) for which they wish to register and obtain the instructor’s signature on their enrollment form, indicating that there is space available in the class.
Classes not available to senior auditors include those with a lab, hands-on classes, foreign language classes, and others . There must be sufficient room in the class in order to participate as a senior auditor and the professor has the final approval.
Under the “ Academics ” menu, click “ Course Schedules ” then scroll down and click “ Credit Course Schedule ”. You will get the “Search for Classes”. If you don’t see the term you are looking for in “ Term ”, click the arrow next to “ Term ” to get the pull-down menu to choose term you want.
As a senior citizen (60 years of age or older) you may audit credit courses on a space-available basis at Westchester Community College. Senior auditors are required to provide a valid driver’s license as proof of age.

West Chester University recognizes required (non-voluntary) service in the United States military including the Pennsylvania National Guard as a legitimate reason to miss up to the equivalent of 2 weeks during a 15-week semester. Service members must submit a copy of their orders to the Registrar's Office.
Students must obtain departmental permission for independent study courses and be registered by the end of the add/drop period. An overall GPA of 2.00 or higher and a minimum GPA of 2.00 in a student's major courses are required. The independent study form is available in the Office of the Registrar.
Students are permitted to waitlist up to 7 credit hours. Students are not officially registered in the class when on the waitlist nor are they guaranteed enrollment into waitlisted courses.
A senior (90 credits or more) pursuing a bachelor's degree who has an overall grade point average of 3.00 may, with the permission of the major advisor, course professor, department chair of the course, the Dean of The Graduate School, and the Vice Provost, enroll in up to six credit s of graduate-level course work. The student must be at the senior level with the designated grade point average at the time the course begins.
Individualized instruction is the teaching of a regular, listed catalog course to a single student. Individualized instruction is offered only when the University has canceled or failed to offer a course according to schedule. Students must obtain departmental permission for individual instruction and be registered by the end of the add/drop period. The individualized instruction form is available in the Office of the Registrar.
Students can only attend courses for which they are registered. Individuals not registered for a course may attend classes on a temporary basis at the discretion of the faculty member. *For students requesting in-classroom support, contact the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities.
