The CCSI certification process can be divided into three stages—before, during, and after the ICP event. Each stage contains multiple required steps, which is recommended to be accomplished in the indented order before proceeding to the next step.
The Instructor Certification Program (ICP) is a rigorous assessment designed to validate a candidate can meet Cisco’s minimum quality standards for technical skills and technical instruction. A CCSI status ensures that the individual is certified to deliver authorized Cisco training courses. The ICP Event examines the candidate’s capabilities and skills for interactive and engaging classroom teaching in a technical environment. A formal process is used to ensure that the candidate selected will provide the highest quality training experience to customers. Typically, these events are normally public or private events held in person at one of Cisco’s global locations or at one of our Authorized Learning Partners locations. However, due to varying COVID-19 restrictions globally, there remains a fair amount of uncertainty regarding travel, and other in-person activities. At Cisco, the health and well-being of our customers, partners, employees and communities is of high importance to us. Therefore, we are allowing virtual-ICP remote events temporarily until in person events can resume.
The CCSI Fundamentals course has been designed to help instructors successfully delivery the best possible live or virtual classroom experience fort customers and is a great resource to understand Cisco CCSI policies, rules, tools access, labs and general expectations of being a CCSI and why they are important to Cisco.
To purchase the ICP Assessment Event, the Learning Partner administrator must first enroll the CCSI candidate in Learning Partner Management System (LPMS) by completing the "Joint ICP Enrolment" form. The form is located on the Instructor Management tab under the "Manage New CCSI" section. Once this is complete, the Learning Partner or CCSI candidate can purchase a seat to attend the remote ICP Event from the Cisco Learning Network Store.
This virtual ICP is not a test of your ability to utilize virtual delivery tools, but rather to deliver live instructor led classroom training. This means that you should expect to deliver training standing up and as close as possible to real conditions you would experience in a live in-person classroom environment.
The first stage of the ICP process is all about the preparation for the event, which includes several steps that are marked in the following figure. By finishing these steps, you will be able to proceed to the second stage, which is the actual ICP event.
