By adding silent periods, you can make the existing audio file work in an Adobe Captivate project without having to edit the audio extensively. Select Audio > Edit and then choose Slide, Slides, Project or Background (depending on your requirement) and then go to the Edit tab.

To zoom in on a particular area of the waveform, click in the waveform and then drag the zoom slider bar. To change how audio files are distributed across slides, click a slide divider and move it to the left or right. The waveform remains static, but you change where the audio file begins to play within the Adobe Captivate project. This option is particularly useful if you have a long audio file and need to experiment with assigning the file to one slide or having it play over multiple slides.
After you record or import an audio file, the file appears as a waveform in the Slide Audio dialog box. If your project contains multiple audio files, you can see which audio files are assigned to specific slides.
Select the portion of the audio file where you want to insert silence, and click Insert Silence. Choose from one of the following options: Adds silence to the beginning of the audio file. Adds silence to the end of the audio file. This option is available only when you have not selected a portion of the audio file.
Specifies the maximum amplification that will be used. The default setting of 2.0 sets the quietest sections of the audio to be amplified by a factor of 2. A higher setting can improve projects with large differences between quiet and loud sections, but can also amplify background noise.
This is preferable because all equalizers add phase shift as you boost, which can result in an undesirable coloring of the sound. Usually, the more EQ you add, the more phase shift is also added and the harder it will be to fit the instrument into the mix. Many engineers are judicious in their use of EQ.
Starting with your EQ flat, remove ALL the bottom end by turning the low frequency control to full cut.
Adjust the amount of cut to taste. Be aware that too much cut will cause the sound to be thinner. If required, add some “point” to sound by adding a slight amount (start with only a dB or two; add more to taste) of upper midrange (2 to 4kHz).
Make all the elements of a mix fit together better by juggling frequencies so that each instrument sits in its own predominate frequency range . Sometimes you’re trying to achieve only one of the above goals, but most of the time (especially if you’re mixing music) you’re trying to achieve all three.
It’s usually better to add a small amount at two frequencies than a large amount at one .

NeoSpeech has since become part of a company called ReadSpeaker. Included with Adobe Captivate are several English voices, a French voice, and a Korean voice.
The advantage of using Microsoft Speech packages is that they integrate well with Adobe Captivate . There are languages outside of English, Korean and French that you can select, and they are free to install in your instance of Windows 10. Like the NeoSpeech/ReadSpeaker product, the disadvantage of the Microsoft Speech packages is the quality. Once again, I cannot recommend this solution for quality eLearning projects.
Amazon Polly doesn't integrate with Adobe Captivate. You would need to copy and paste your narration text into their web-based tool slide by slide and generate audio files that you can download one by one. From there, you can import these files into your slides in your eLearning course regardless of the authoring tool.
