Current students interested in changing majors must apply to the new program via the electronic application. All application materials are required as the system cannot transfer documents from a prior application. Please be aware that changing majors inactivates the previous academic program.
Students can withdraw from all courses on or after the first day of classes through the last day to drop from a course without Dean's approval (twelfth week for a 16 week course) using LoboWeb, my.unm.edu. Go to the Registration (Add/Drop Classes) option and drop all listed courses.
You may generate an audit using your course work for any degree program using the available options listed in the drop down menu from the Degree Program. Please visit with an advisor in the appropriate Academic Unit to review an audit.
You may sign up for the waitlist by clicking on Add to Worksheet at the bottom of the page, entering the CRN for the section on your Registration Worksheet and then Submit Changes. You will receive a Registration Add Error that the class is full. On the Action dropdown menu, select Waitlist, and then click on Submit.

Course Load for Graduate Students A full-time course load in a regular semester (fall or spring) is 9 credits, with a maximum of 15 graded credits. A full-time course load for a summer term is 6 credits with a maximum of 9 credits.

Students completing degree requirements for the Fall semester must apply online at MyNMSU by date listed above. A $25 late fee will be assessed for any application received after that date. Please visit Commencement for more information on degree application deadlines.

Students placed on academic warning, probation, or suspension during the end-of-term grading process will be emailed a notification to their NMSU email. Students placed on suspension will have any courses in which they may be registered for future semesters canceled, and applicable refunds will be made by the Business Office.
When a student officially drops a course, the W grade is assigned as follows: No grade is assigned during the end of the cancellation period. A grade of W is recorded when a course is dropped between the last day to cancel and the midpoint of the semester.
Students who subsequently decide not to attend, and have not officially withdrawn from DACC / NMSU, will earn failing grades while remaining financially liable.
In the event that a student has stopped attending class without formally withdrawing, the instructor reserves the right to remove the student from the class by means of an administrative withdrawal.

The web registration system will not accept requests for the S/U grading option unless the course is offered exclusively on an S/U basis. Likewise, the system will not accept requests for the “audit” grading option. To request S/U or audit grading for courses, students will need to see their academic advisor.
Registration changes may be processed only in accordance with university regulations and with appropriate signatures. If a student decides to stop attending a course, it is the responsibility of the student to initiate official withdrawal from the course and to obtain all necessary signatures on the Change of Schedule form. Failure to do so could result in failing grades.
Mini-semester courses start near the middle of the semester and can be added to maintain full-time academic status if a student needs to drop another course to preserve their GPA.
