This CANT just be me

Im having a hard time and wanted to know if any other RBTs have had similar experiences with the company they work for. I started this job in December of 2020, and I DO love it. I love the kids and I absolutely feel very rewarded by the work I put in.

Parent question: Do kids also experience burnout?

TLDR: Toddler no longer wants to go to therapy. Have you experienced a child just being burnt out?

Advice

Had a rough day. Supervisor called and said parent was having issues with child sitting close to me or trying to get hugs and that I would have to establish strict boundaries with the child. I am always quite conscious of this as I work with preschoolers and never want to cross any boundaries.

I had my last day as an RBT yesterday

I thought I’d just be excited, but it turned out to be quite bittersweet. Even though it was the most stressful job of my life, I often felt underpaid and under-appreciated, exhausted, etc. I’m going to miss all the wonderful people I’ve had the chance to work with.

Aggressive Coworker

I am a fairly new RBT. I have a coworker who has been there for a couple of years who has a more aggressive client than I do. My company has not had any restraint classes. This coworker often grabs and pulls the client by the shirt, talks very loudly to the client (even when the client hates loud noises), and is all over a little rough.

Is this normal??

I work in a school that teaches both bx and academics. Part of our job, that wasn't mentioned during hiring, is to help change clients after they have had a toileting accident. I worked at publix in the past and we were not allowed to touch any kind of bodily fluid unless you were a manager. Does this still apply in this setting?
