Removing a course from the Dashboard simply removes it from that view, it will not remove it from the all courses page. Log in to Canvas Click Courses Click All Courses. Click Gold Star. Click the gold star to turn it into a white star. If there are no gold stars then Canvas will display all courses listed within above the Past Enrollments section.

How do I delete my courses in Canvas?
In the Global Navigation menu (on left), click Courses and then All Courses. To favorite a course or courses, click the empty star next to each course name to add it to the Courses menu. To hide a course, click the filled star next to each course name to remove it from the Courses menu.

Select a Home Page, then click Choose and Publish Once you publish your Canvas course site, you do not have to republish it again if you add new content. You only have to publish the site once. You can unpublish the course by going to the Home page and clicking the Unpublish button.

To unpublish a module, hover over the published icon. The hover text will confirm you want to unpublish the module. Click the icon to confirm.
What will happen to the course content, student submissions and grades when the course is archived? Archived course sites are not deleted or removed. Everything in the course site - all course content, quizzes, student submissions, grades, rubrics, assignment comments etc. - is preserved.
To access a Canvas site for a past course, please log into Canvas, click on the Courses tab, and then click on the View All Courses link. On the next page under “Past Enrollments,” you will be able to view your past courses.

Which courses display on your Dashboard when you log in can be managed by clicking the ‘Courses’ icon then selecting ‘All Courses’. The stars on the left are the way you select which courses you want to see when you log in on the Dashboard.
The courses for each semester or term will be managed within the system. You will eventually see them removed from your list. While the system will add and eventually remove these you may want to use the ‘Favorites’ star feature from above to remove course shells you are no longer actively teaching from the Dashboard.
You have the ability to delete these shells from the Settings page in your navigation.

Once you delete a course, the course will be completely removed from your institution's account and will not be viewable by you, prior students, or the account administrator.
If you only want to remove the course from Courses & Groups in the Global Navigation, you can change the course end date, or if you have permission, conclude your course instead. Before you delete your course, make sure you have a record of your Course ID number.
