To switch to a different course or subject, click on the Courses drop-down at the top left of your page, then click on any course name in the drop-down menu. This will bring you to the course page, where you'll find the units and lessons within that course.

To add courses for your child's account, you'll need to log into their account using their username and password and then select a course on their homepage like you would for your own account. Unfortunately, it isn't yet possible for Parents to do this directly from their parent account.
Thanks for the additional information! All accounts are considered to be "Learner" accounts, so you'll have to select at least one course for your own account , even if you have no intentions of completing it.
Through the Remove from class feature, a teacher is essentially removing the student from the class but still retaining the coach/student link. This way a teacher is able to still see the student on their Students Page and if they wish to add them to another one of their classes, they can do so easily.
