For every 30 minutes, you study, take a short 10-15 minute break to recharge. Make studying less overwhelming by condensing notes from class. Underline or highlight keywords. Create visual aids like charts, story webs, mind maps, or outlines to organize and simplify information and help you remember better.
The Sims 4 Discover University releases November 15, 2019 on PC/Mac, and will arrive December 17 for console players. This guide to cheating should work for both platforms. Using trait, career, and skill cheats you're able to boost your Sim in a number of ways -- even giving them a degree they never attended school to earn.
As usual, you can use the Stats.Set_Skill_Level cheat on Discover University's new skills. They are Research and Debate and the Robotics Skill. Both are extremely useful. In order to set your skill level use:
See the degrees listed out here. Note the silver and gold on the degrees. Silver is a regular degree, gold a distinguished one. They don't seem to be harder, it's just harder to get in. You can take between 1 and 4 University classes. Taking four will help you graduate from college quickly but it's more time-management intense.
If you want better scholarships or to be accepted for distinguished degrees, you should do some work ahead. If you have a High School "A" student on your hands, they already have a slight advantage. You can take that a bit further by improving their skill levels a touch before they apply.
There are a number of scholarships available - those based on where you live, based on how much money your Sim's family has, and more scholarships based on other accomplishments like participating in Scouts (Seasons). Some of these aren't particularly easy to obtain, but you should know that Skill-based Scholarships also exist.
By popular demand, I've made a list of all the scholarships in Discover University. There are quite a number. I'm going to lump some together that are very similar. The requirements listed here are to be eligible to apply, and does not mean you will be accepted.
I separated these out, because they are a bit different. Like with Scouts, having a higher skill level will improve your chances. I wanted to list out the break points for them, as in where you'll get a better shot with each skill. Realize for multi-skill scholarships having multiple skills will increase your chances.
A few people have noted that after your first degree, you no longer need 12 credits. We initially thought this was tied to skills, but it's actually unrelated. Once you have a degree, any others you obtain will only take 8 credits each.
You can use Student Loans to pay for University if you wish. A scholarship will typically cover a couple of classes but not all your housing cost if you choose to live in a dorm.
To get the most out of every class, make sure your Sim is taking notes or actively listening .
Attending Classes. It’s important to actually attend class in order to get the most out of your university education. Missing class will hurt your grades. Sims in the area will autonomously try to get to class a little early.
Sims are limited to 4 classes per term in total, so either 4 classes, or 3 classes and 1 elective.
One term last 5 working days. There is no way to shorten or lengthen a term. They are fixed periods. Sims can begin a new term anytime during the week, but weekends don’t count as term days. If your Sim starts a new term on a Friday, the term won’t end until Thursday the following week.
Even if a Sim only takes 3 terms to graduate, they will still spend the majority of their young adult life in university; however, unlike past Sims games, your Sims are not trapped on campus with no way to work or live a life outside of university.
Homework. Every course your Sim takes has homework due before every class. When your Sim enrolls in university, they are automatically given a homework notebook in their personal inventory. Sims can complete homework for all their classes using this notebook.
You’ll find that your Sim has little to no time for extracurricular activities, organizations, or socialising when they are taking 4 classes and trying to achieve an A+ grade in every single one of them. University is definitely a rewarding challenge in The Sims 4, just like in the real world.
The benefit of going to University in The Sims 4 is that you get to skip a few levels of a career and make extra money, including a signing bonus.
A lot of the new careers we’ve been getting in The Sims 4 are being given an option for us to work from home, this is a welcome addition for simmers who like to play through careers in a simple way, or stay at home with their kids.
