Copied courses are added to the same subaccount as the course that is copied. Courses should be copied when you want to use or repurpose previously created content including course settings, syllabus, assignments, modules, files, pages, discussions, quizzes, and question banks.
Go to the course you wish to duplicate or copy over into a new course and click on the Course settings. Select "Copy Course" from the right content panel. Enter the new title and course code for your new course, and add the start and end dates, as shown below.
Click or type a module name in the Select a Module field [1]. Then select the module for the copied page. To select a location within the module, click the Place drop-down menu [2]. You can select to copy the page to the top of the module, before or after a specific module item, or at the bottom of a module.
Instructors, TA or Course Designers can copy content and activities from one Canvas course site to another Canvas course site if they have an account on both sites.
Ctrl + V (for Windows) or Cmd + V (for Mac) for pasting content. You can use this keyboard shortcut for text, images, files, folders, and links.

Importing a course more than once may have unintended consequences. If you import content into a new course, edit the content in the new course, and later import the previous content again, the imported content will override the existing content.
The Canvas Course Import tool can be used to copy specific course content or entire courses from previous terms and quickly import them into existing courses. Important Note: Before using the course import tool, you must be enrolled in both the course you want to copy to, as well as the course you want to copy from.
Once you have selected the correct course to copy from , you can move on to the content settings section where you can specify whether to include All content if you are copying the entire course from one semester to another, or you can choose to Select specific content only if you want to copy certain items.
