Step 1: Add an ELA Course

Before we get into the how-to of working on the course, you first need to add the course to your account.

Step 2: Work Through Units

To take full advantage of a Piqosity ELA course, students should begin their course progression by completing a unit. These units contain reading passages and corresponding questions similar to a practice reading comprehension test.

Step 3: Use Lessons to Review Concepts

The Piqosity team has created thorough lessons to refresh and enrich students’ knowledge and understanding of ELA curriculum. Lessons cover a range of topics that include reading comprehension, language (grammar and punctuation), writing, and verbal communication (speaking and listening).

Step 4: Use the Adaptive Practice Feature

Once you’ve finished a passage, reviewed your work, and refreshed your knowledge with lessons, all that’s left to do is to practice and move on to the next passage!

Step 5: Repeat!

We launched these new college admissions prep courses entirely free of charge in fall of 2020 during the depths of the global pandemic. While this update will introduce a paywall for individual users, many public schools will be able to continue to request free access for their eligible students.

We’re in the process of putting the finishing touches on our English and Math courses for grades 5, 8, and 11. By the end of the 2021-22 academic year we plan to have math and English courses for all grades 5 through 11. Piqosity’s prep courses for the ACT, SAT, and ISEE Upper, Middle, and Lower levels include 10 full-length practice tests. Students can have multiple courses attached to their account (e.g. both ACT and SAT).

What is Piqosity whiteboard?

Piqosity is built for remote, digital learning. For example, students can use Piqosity’s built-in whiteboard on their iPad or Windows touch-enabled device to do scratch work, which is saved and attached to each practice question for later review with their tutor or teacher. How long is the adaptive learning platform free trial?

Start by registering as a student to see how our adaptive learning platform works for your end users. Paid courses include a 7-day free trial; a credit card is not required to register, and there’s no obligation after the free trial ends. Is there a charge for Piqosity?

There is no charge to join Piqosity’s Educator Referral Network. However, we allow student/ parent users to find tutors by using our Leaderboard and upcoming directory. Any educator or organization on Piqosity has an equal chance of being ranked on the Leaderboard.

Is Piqosity a technology company?

No, Piqosity is purely an education technology company. However, we do bundle a tutor consultation and/or 1-hour of private tutoring with select packages. These services are rendered by local tutors and teachers. If you are a local educator, we invite you to register for our Educator Referral Network at no-charge.

Is Piqosity free for teachers?

Nothing, Piqosity’s robust features for tutor s/ teachers and tutoring companies/ schools are completely free of charge. There are no contracts to sign; simply self-register and get to work helping your students right away. The only fees are the discounted licenses for students enrolled in premium courses.

Does Piqosity have an organization account?

Organization accounts get all of Piqosity’s features and can include 100s of teachers or just a sole tutor. But if you don’t need business management features or don’t want to directly pay for student licenses, start as an educator only.
