WHAT ARE THE LEVELS OF PADI CERTIFICATION?
Specialty instructor courses provide teaching tips and hands-on experience that you can implement right away. With 25 standard PADI Specialty Diver courses, and numerous distinctive specialties, you have lots to choose from - so get going.
You must have at least 40 dives to begin the Divemaster course, and reach 60 to achieve the certification. The number of dives needed to complete the course means it can take anywhere between six weeks and six months to attain the certification.
Be at least a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor or currently participating in or have completed an IDC/OWSI Program within the past 12 months. IDC/OWSI candidates may apply for Specialty Instructor certification only after successfully completing an IE. Be a certified Enriched Air Nitrox Diver**
PADI IDC Staff Instructor who have been PADI Instructors for at least two years are on the way to earning the Master Instructor rating. Other requirements include: Issued 150 PADI certifications at various levels. Participated in three PADI Seminars.

To become a scuba instructor with PADI you need to have been certified as an entry-level diver with any agency for at least six months before you can take the instructor course. Also you need to have an Advanced diver certification, a rescue certification, and a Divemaster or Dive Leader certification.

The PADI Deep Adventure dive is one of the required dives of your PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, and is the dive that certifies you to maximum 30 meters/100 feet.
Possess a complete understanding of the PADI System of diver education. Have participated in at least three PADI Instructor Development Seminars. Use the complete PADI System of diver education including all appropriate PADI training materials when conducting PADI programs.

Wondering if your scuba certification expires is an excellent question to ask when you are signing up for a scuba course. The general answer is no, your scuba certification does not expire.

This is your first PADI pro course! You’ll need 40 dives to be accepted into the program and after the 14 day course you’ll need to have a total of 60 logged dives. You will learn the basics of the PADI system, how to assist divers and how to work in the dive industry.
Step 1: Become an Open Water Diver! Your Open Water Diver course will consist of E-Learning, confined water dives and 4 open water dives. Your instructor will teach you to become a reliable and safe diver.
You must have 100 logged dives to enroll in the PADI IDC. Expect long nights and many hours studying to prepare for the Instructor Examination. After the IDC you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to pass your IE, plus you’ll have made some life long dive buddies!

PADI Master Scuba Diver™ rating is the highest level of recreational diving. It denotes significant experience and scuba training. Fewer than two percent of divers ever become Master Scuba Divers.
Although diving with a buddy is the norm, there are reasons for an experienced diver to develop self-reliance and independence while diving. Learning to carry out dives without a partner can make you a stronger diver in most dive situations.
Drift diving can be relaxing and exhilarating. The course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you scuba dive down rivers and use ocean currents to glide along.
Diving with a full face mask allows you to breathe from your nose and mouth, and provides added comfort in colder water. The mask can also be fitted with communication gear, which can be useful for various types of specialty diving. Continuing Education.
The course only takes a few hours and you can do most of it online.
Being a Specialty Instructor allows you to teach your students more niche diving activities in new environments. It’s also a way of showing them new equipment and to teach the style of diving that you love!
