Workshops for individuals interested in becoming a volunteer hunter/trapper education instructor in Ohio are offered at five locations across the state each year. Individuals must complete a volunteer instructor training workshop to become a certified instructor.

Instructor Academy Requirements

Complete Ohio’s online hunter education course and email a copy of the certificate to [email protected] with a request to attend the hunter education instructor academy. The interested candidate will be emailed the link to complete the Ohio background check for hunter and trapper education instructors.

After we receive your package, you will be interviewed by Fish and Wildlife staff.
