First, "override" is a noun, not a verb. You don't want to override the course; you want an override slip/chop/form from the professor to allow you to take the course. This is a Permission, whether it's formally called that or not. So forget the bureaucratic terminology; you are asking a professor to permit you to take their class.
Select course from the drop down list. Type message to Faculty (optional) Submit Request. Check for Override Decision. Add Approved Courses to Record. Students would need to follow several steps: They would have to tell the instructor of the prerequisite course that you believe you don't need to take the course because of x,y,z OR tell academic affairs (or the equivalent) and they will contact the instructor for you or give you their contact info.Aug 7, 2015
You may contact the instructor who teaches the course and ask about the option of a prerequisite override. The override of a prerequisite can only be given by the instructor teaching the section of the course you are trying to get into.Apr 16, 2020
The College of Information and Computer Sciences only allows students who have met the stated prerequisite(s) and who meet the eligibility requirements to enroll in our courses, subject to available seats. An override request is essentially a petition for special permission to enroll.

Event-specific emails can be overridden at the event level. An Email Settings menu option is present on the event overview page to access and override event-specific emails.
