Parents can sign up as an observer in Canvas. Observers can link their Canvas account to their student's account so they can see assignment dues dates, announcements, and other course content. Observers can view the course content but cannot participate in the course.

Pages is designed to open to the front page for the course, if there is a front page selected. To select a page from the Pages Index, click the View All Pages button.
You can decide who can edit the page by selecting the Users allowed to edit this page drop down menu [1]. Options include only teachers, teachers and students, or anyone. The Anyone option only applies to users who are enrolled in the course.
If you are ready to publish your page, click the Save & Publish button [1]. If you want to create a draft of your page, click the Save button [2].
In Global Navigation, click the Admin link [1], then click the name of the account [2].
In the Course Home Page, click the Blueprint sidebar tab [1], then click the Associations link [2].
The Associations page displays any courses that are associated with the blueprint course. Once a course is associated with a blueprint course, it cannot be associated with any other blueprint course.
To associate a course with the blueprint course, click the checkbox next to the course title [1]. You can select multiple courses at one time, or you can select all courses by clicking the Select All Courses checkbox [2].
After a course is associated with a blueprint course, the blueprint course will create an initial sync that includes all course content.
Open your course in Canvas and click the People link in Course Navigation.
The Canvas Login ID for Rutgers faculty, staff and students this will be their NetID. For participants who do not have a NetID, their email address will also be their Login ID.
If a user account has been found, verify that the correct user is listed and click Add Users to complete the process. The user will be sent an invitation with a link to the course.
Until the user accepts the course invitation, the user’s status will display as pending.
