When you register for a class you are automatically enrolled into the Blackboard system for that course within approximately 6 hours. However, there could be several reasons why you may not see a Blackboard course. I'm a new or returning student who registered for courses.
There are two reasons a student might encounter this message: The student is not registered for any courses in Banner. The instructor may not be using Blackboard or hasn't made the course available to students yet.
If the link to your course name is not active and it says "unavailable" or "not currently available" next to the name, it means your instructor has not yet made the course available to students. Please contact your instructor to find out if/when it will be made available. Not all instructors use Blackboard.
Most instructors will place their course syllabus in the Course Information area. Some instructors will change the names on their menu buttons to help you know what is available. Click “Course Information” (etc.) to read course material.

To make a course available in more than one institution, select Find Node. Select whether to search for the node by Name, Description, or Identifier. Select a search condition from the menu: Contains, Equal To, Starts With, or Not Blank. Provide the search term and select Go.

The first time you or an instructor with the correct privileges accesses a newly created course, it appears in the Original Course View, but you can switch to the Ultra Course View. The only exception is if you enforced the use of the Ultra Course View for new courses when you configured the Ultra experience.

Making the Course Creation Wizard widely available is not recommended when enforcing a course ID naming convention because Blackboard Learn does not validate course IDs against naming conventions.
The Course Creation Wizard guides users through the process with an easy step-by-step approach. Administrators control whether the Course Creation Wizard module is available on a system-wide level where it can be added to the My Institution tab by users, or course-wide level where instructors can add the module to course home pages. Institutions that have access to Community Engagement can also control availability for specific roles.
This setting only controls what users see within the course. Their language preferences will still apply in other areas of Blackboard Learn.
To limit enrollment to a specific time period, select the Start Date and End Date check boxes and enter the dates and times between which users can enroll in the course. To limit enrollment to users with an access code, select the Require an Access Code to Enroll check box. Provide the text to use for the access code.
You can assign the course to multiple categories. Administrators create categories on the Course Catalog page.
To prohibit unauthenticated users from enrolling in the course, select No. Categories. Select Course Catalog Category. The category determines where the course description appears in the course catalog. Select a category to select it and select the right-pointing arrow to move it to the Selected Items list.

In addition, faculty leverage the capabilities of the system to manage various administrative tasks including research, new faculty searches, professional development, etc.
Staff can request academic Course Site courses for faculty, or request administrative (non-academic) Course Site courses for temporary committees, job searches, departments, etc.
Course Site allows students to have constant access to course content, collaborate with peers, submit course work, as well as communicate with faculty and fellow students.
