Activate Course from D2L Home Page
Once you have logged on to D2L, you will be taken to your My Home page. Locate the section entitled My Courses. Your course should be listed in this section. Or, use the Select a course dropdown to choose your course.
On the course home page, click Course Admin> Course Offering Information. Select the Course is activecheck box. Tip: You can deactivate a course offering to hide it from learners without actually deleting it. This way the content (including user data) can be kept for future use. Click Save. The activation settings for the course site are located on a page called "Course Offering Information." There are links to this page in two different places in D2L: 1) the list of courses on the D2L home page, and 2) through the course site main menu.

24-48 hoursPlease wait 24-48 hours after registering for a course to appear in Brightspace Learning Environment. The course may not be active. Your instructor is responsible for activating the course so contact them to see when the course will be activated. The course hasn't started.
Publish course content to Brightspace Learning RepositoryTo publish to an existing repository, select Pick a Repository. From the drop-down list, select a repository.To overwrite an existing learning object, select Overwrite an existing object. Click Search. Locate the repository you want to overwrite.

My courses Widget The “My Courses widget” will allow quick access to courses, only pinned courses will appear on the homepage. To view unpinned courses click “View All Courses” located on the bottom of the widget.
On the My Home or Course Home page, navigate to the My Courses widget. From the My Courses context menu, select Customize this widget. Select Show Course Code.
Brightspace, sometimes referred to as D2L, is the learning management system used by the four Montana State University campuses. A learning management system (LMS) is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting and delivery of educational courses or training programs.
On the navbar, click My Courses. From the description of the class you want to leave, click Unenroll.
Under the Active section, check the box to the left of Course is active. Under the Start Date section, check the box Course has start date. Enter the desired course start date and time. The Now button allows you to select the current date and time.
This is so students do not view content before you have finished adding/editing your materials. Students cannot see the course or access course content when a course is not active.
