He can also go as a mentored youth until he reaches 12 yrs. old. Mentored youths can hunt squirrels, groundhogs, turkeys and antlered deer if I am not mistaken. You can find info on PGC website under "Mentored Youth Program". No license required, just must be within arms reach of adult at all times.
