This course follows the natural capitalization sequence of a company to introduce the main components of the financial services industry: private equity, commercial finance, IPO’s, M&A’s and leveraged buy-outs, Wall Street research, asset management, and industry ethics. This course is an opportunity to learn and practice skills that lead to careers in tech and entrepreneurship. The course will cover a range of topics from navigating the startup space to building relationships. Guest lecturers will include JHU alums who have successfully navigated the tech startup space.

Intersession Abroad course offered in collaboration with the Technical University of Denmark. Course explores the theory and practice of social entrepreneurship, with case studies specific to Denmark. Tips for taking intersession classes

For people who do decide to take intersession classes, it won’t be easy. Especially since they are not normally paced. That does not mean anything bad, you just got watch out and be prepared.

Disadvantages to winter classes

There are disadvantages to winter classes. The main one is the fact most winter classes will be offered online. Always check with your community college, some will have in person. If they have face to face, take that opportunity! There are advantages you miss out on if it is not face to face.

Alternative option to intersession classes

Good news! If it turns out winter class might not be for you, there is another option. This option is still tough but a lot better than winter classes.

A lot of the time students are hesitant to take courses like this during the normal semester because they cannot commit to it in addition to their normal workload.
