What is Theology?

The academic study of theology at St. Mary’s University covers the history of Scriptural interpretation, the development of Christian teachings, and practical aspects of Catholic social teaching and Christian ethics.

Degree Plan

This program instructs students in the careful reading of theological texts and church documents, the importance of historical and philosophical influences on textual interpretation, and the use of essential research tools.

Courses in Theology

Unlike many graduate programs, the Master of Arts in Theology at St. Mary’s requires courses in scripture, which provides students with a deep investigation into traditional and contemporary interpretations.

Student Fees Description

A single, all-inclusive fee is charged to all students at the time of registration for each semester enrolled. This fee assessed to each enrolled student funds a portion of campus-wide services and infrastructure that support classroom education and community formation experience.

POSTGRADUATE DISCOUNT

Saint Meinrad graduates are eligible for a 30% discount on course tuition. The only limitation is that reduced-tuition courses may not be used toward another degree at this institution. There is no reduction for auditing courses.

PAYMENT OF FEES

Tuition, fees, and room and board charges must be paid before the end of each term. Students with outstanding account balances will not receive a grade report or diploma, be issued transcripts of credit, or be allowed to enroll in subsequent semesters until the debt has been paid.
