Commercial Driving is a free training program that helps unemployed New York City residents pass the New York State Commercial Driving License (CDL) road test and work as a commercial driver. The training consists of one week of full-time classroom instruction and an additional 40 hours of behind-the-wheel training.

That said, since many companies require 120 or 160 hours of training, truck driving school is often just three to four weeks. Really – that's it! Three to four weeks is all you need. Usually, tuition reimbursement is paid out on a monthly basis as long as the driver remains employed at the company. Some companies will even pay lenders/financial institutions directly so you don’t have to worry. There is a maximum amount each company will pay out also.

NTTS offers a 90-hour training course for the Class B CDL. This Heavy Truck Driver Course is designed for individuals with little or no experience driving commercial vehicles and want to obtain a CDL. The Class B CDL vehicle designation is for heavy, non-articulated vehicles such as straight trucks, fuel trucks, and dump trucks.
Students who complete the Class B CDL training course have various job opportunities available for truck driving positions. NTTS has assisted Class B CDL graduates to find well-paying job opportunities with several employers.
This program is full -time, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. for 5 weeks.
This Commercial Drivers Course can be completed either full-time on a 7-week or 10-week class schedule or a part-time schedule over 18 weekends. This Commercial Drivers Course is designed for students with little or no previous experience operating a commercial vehicle. This course follows the NTTS tried and true approach of theory and procedures in the classroom, demonstration of procedures and skill development in practical application behind-the-wheel. Graduates of this training for a Class A CDL have gone into entry-level positions as heavy truck drivers or tractor-trailer drivers.
In addition, CDL training is available part-time, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. for 13 weeks. Graduates of this program have gone into entry-level positions as heavy truck drivers, tractor-trailer drivers, and owner-operators once their military commitment is completed.
Students who have previously held a Class A CDL should consider this course. Training is conducted only at the NTTS Buffalo campus.
The end goal for most students who complete a CDL training course are opportunities available for truck driving jobs. NTTS has chosen a select number of trucking companies that we’re proud to offer a partnership program. Our partners offer well-paying jobs and may provide tuition reimbursement to CDL graduates, too.
Any information good or bad about this school will be helpfull, I am looking at the 602 hour and the 320 hour course, It just seems like alot of money. I am new to all of this so any help or advice you can give me is really appreciated.
I went to the one in Somers CT, and it was a good school. They do not BS you, tell you like it is.. They do not promise you that you will get hired on by anyone, but do be sure that you tell them everything about you, including you mvr..

I went to NTTS in Liverpool, Winter of 1991. I remember it was an alright school. The equpiment I am sure has been changed, at the time it wasn't what you would call great (DOT compliance). The classroom and field work were outstanding. I learned alot while I was there. Please remember, any school you attend, what you put into you will get out.

I'm not sure what is meant by "602 hr" or "302 hr". At the time I was unemployed and was able to go to the weekday course. The school also offered a weekend course. My school start time was something like 7am until 3 or 4 in the afternoon. 5 days a week, with the weekends off.
I am trying to get in Ntts liverpool also going to attend in winter months I am from arizona but figure learning to drive in icy conditions can only make me a better driver if i can handle the roads there .
