The Justin Guitar Beginner Song Course by Musopia is a song based guitar course where you play awesome songs with a backing track right from the start. It's awesome fun for complete beginners and more confident strummers!
Justin Guitar offers completely free online guitar lessons that have decent quality to them and a suitable selection of courses and great songs to choose from. Justin Guitar allows users to choose from three levels of lessons:
If you need more lessons than I have here I recommend that you check out JamPlay, they have over 4200 lessons from 74 teachers including legends like Brent Mason, Bumblefoot and Steve Stevens.
I would suggest spending some time consolidating the Beginner Course. Make sure you are confident with all the aspects of the consolidation lesson (the last one) and can play a bunch of songs with your open chords and generally feel cool with all the stuff we have covered in this course before moving on to my Intermediate Guitar Method.
Overall. Justin Sandercoe's teaching is undoubtedly worth (at least) as much as the typical $19.99 a month that most other membership sites cost. I'd recommend Justinguitar over a handful of these sites, including: Guitareo.
The beginner 's course is perfect for anyone who has never touched a guitar before or for anyone who is looking for some basic skills knowledge about how to play the guitar or improve their technique but doesn't want to go to a teacher or learn from a book.
The best part about JustinGuitar is that it's free. This makes learning accessible for everyone. The donation scheme also encourages users who can afford it to give back and support Justin as he develops new lessons and features. Justin's teaching style is a close second.
Overall, I was very impressed with the quality of the videos and learning experience that Justin's Guitar lessons provided users with. ... These lessons were also organized very well; some online lessons will teach beginners songs on sheet music before they even teach their guitarists how to read music.
Like m_c I wasn't an absolute beginner but I took about 9 months . played a lot of songs in between.. But even now I sometimes go over the BC while I'm strumming quietly, just because I enjoyed it and I often hear something I decide to practise again because maybe it's just not perfect.
The main benefit of online lessons is their cost. You can get a full package for a fraction of the cost you would have to spend on hiring a tutor. The only issue that needs to be addressed is the fact that you are left to your own devices when you take the online lesson road.

DVDs and Books. If you end up purchasing any resources for learning guitar, then you will have to decide on buying a membership, or buying a one time product (DVD or book). Yes the core of Justin Guitar is free, but essentially all the lessons drive you to buying some type of course or book.

I've been using the app for several months and am getting to some of the later stages but now a majority of the practice songs say unable to load. Support said it's because of my location (US based) and has to do with their copyright licenses, but geez it's pretty ridiculous. Changing your location (VPN) also does not work as support has suggested.
