I would suggest spending some time consolidating the Beginner Course. Make sure you are confident with all the aspects of the consolidation lesson (the last one) and can play a bunch of songs with your open chords and generally feel cool with all the stuff we have covered in this course before moving on to my Intermediate Guitar Method.
Overall. Justin Sandercoe's teaching is undoubtedly worth (at least) as much as the typical $19.99 a month that most other membership sites cost.
The best part about JustinGuitar is that it's free. This makes learning accessible for everyone. The donation scheme also encourages users who can afford it to give back and support Justin as he develops new lessons and features. Justin's teaching style is a close second.
The beginner 's course is perfect for anyone who has never touched a guitar before or for anyone who is looking for some basic skills knowledge about how to play the guitar or improve their technique but doesn't want to go to a teacher or learn from a book.
Re: How long did it take you to do the beginner's course? About 18 months. 15 to do the course.
The main benefit of online lessons is their cost. You can get a full package for a fraction of the cost you would have to spend on hiring a tutor. The only issue that needs to be addressed is the fact that you are left to your own devices when you take the online lesson road.

Electric guitars are generally the easiest to play: the strings are usually thinner, the 'action' is lower and therefore the strings are easier to press down. The necks are generally narrower too which can help in the early stages.
Acoustic guitars are often considered harder to learn. This is due to the strings being heavier and the height of the strings being higher than standard electric guitars. You only really notice this for the first few months of playing, after this your fingers adjust and become stronger.
DVDs and Books. If you end up purchasing any resources for learning guitar, then you will have to decide on buying a membership, or buying a one time product (DVD or book). Yes the core of Justin Guitar is free, but essentially all the lessons drive you to buying some type of course or book.
For someone who practices around 30 minutes a day, 3-5 days a week, with medium intensity, it'll take roughly 1-2 months to play beginner guitar songs, and approximately 3-6 months to confidently play intermediate and slightly more advanced songs with technical elements.
Justin Guitar. There is a reason he has almost a million YouTube subscribers and some unbelievably famous guitarists recommending the course. His beginners course allows you to learn almost 250 songs along the way and can be completed in a matter of months or even weeks if you're dedicated.
The short answer: It can take anywhere from a few months to a few years to learn guitar. How long it takes you depends on what you want to be able to play on guitar, how often you practice and the quality of your practice sessions.

In this first stage we are going to check out three basic chords and how to change between them.
Now we are going to introduce some easy minor chords. We'll be changing between them and listening to the difference between Major and Minor. We'll also develop the changes between the new chords and the ones learnt last lesson.
Now we have to get your hand stretching out a bit for a couple of trickier chords.
Now we are going to introduce some new interesting (but not harder) chords.
We finish off learning our open 7th chords, check out a new way to help get your chord changes even faster and also have a look at shuffle rhythms. You will be able to play blues in three different keys by the end of this stage :) cool...

I've been using the app for several months and am getting to some of the later stages but now a majority of the practice songs say unable to load. Support said it's because of my location (US based) and has to do with their copyright licenses, but geez it's pretty ridiculous. Changing your location (VPN) also does not work as support has suggested.
