A hybrid class is essentially an online class, but also requires four (4) or more campus meetings. These campus meeting are scheduled in advance by the instructor. Unrestricted access means the student has the permission, rights, and ability to install software and plug-ins on the computer's hard drive. Campus computer labs are available for all students to complete classwork; however, these labs are run on a virtual thin-client environment.

The purpose of the BC3 Scholars Program is to provide high-achieving students academic enrichment opportunities beyond the scope of the conventional college classroom. The program enables students to develop academic skills that meet their intellectual capabilities. Higher-level thinking, analysis and problem solving are the focus of the Scholars projects. Students accepted into the Scholars Program at BC3 benefit from working on-on-one with the cooperating professor on a project especially created to complement the traditional course curriculum. Students who complete four scholars courses will graduate with Scholars Designation on their diplomas and be recognized at the graduation ceremony. Course work will:
Any resident of Butler County who is at least sixty-two years old (proof of age required) may enroll in credit classes at the College on a space available basis without paying tuition, required fees, or an application fee. However, they must still complete an Application for Admission. At the time of registration, the student must indicate if they wish to take audited or credit courses. Senior citizens may register for available classes on the last day before classes begin. Audit students have the right to attend class, but do not take tests, submit term papers, or receive grades. Students receive an electronic grade report at the end of the semester indicating audit or a grade if taken for credit. Any additional expenses associated with the course such as books and other instructional materials are incurred by the student.
