Beginning in 2018, Virginia Tech implemented new fees for incoming students in engineering ($2,000 per year), architecture and design ($1,500 per year), building construction ($1,500 per year), business ($75 per credit hour), and agriculture ($750 per year). These fees apply only to incoming students in these disciplines.

All VT-MIT courses are 3-credit hour courses. All VT-MIT students (whether resident, non-resident, or foreign nationals) pay the same tuition and fees. Full or partial refunds are only given if students withdraw from a course within specific time periods.
Financial Aid. Only students who qualify as regular or provisional-status students qualify for federal financial aid. Students must be enrolled in at least five credits (two MIT courses) in a semester to qualify. The University Scholarships and Financial Aid office can provide further information regarding federal loans.

Students are ultimately responsible for officially dropping a course, cancelling registration, or withdrawing by the posted deadlines to avoid academic and/or financial consequences.
