The WorkKeys Career Readiness Certificate (CRC) is a nationally recognized credential that can help you prove you have the necessary skills to be successful in the workplace, distinguish you from other candidates, and increase your opportunity for career change and advancement.

DSST Testing

DANTES Subject Standardized Tests (DSST) cover both college-level subject matter and vocational/technical matter. Exams are available in 37 subject areas. Colleges may award you up to 3 semester hours of college credit for each test passed. We only offer the DSST exam to active duty and active reserve members.

Kryterion is a full-service test development and delivery company that provides world-class online testing technology integrating item banking, test delivery and real time reports; while leveraging a global network of testing centers.

Who We Are

The ASC team consists of Craven CC students and staff. Peer tutors must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 and have successfully completed the course they tutor with an A or B. Professional tutors hold either bachelor’s or master’s degrees in their content area.

One-on-one tutoring sessions, group tutoring sessions, and embedded tutoring (face-to-face and online).

Tutoring Services

The ASC offers peer tutoring, online tutoring, embedded tutoring, and a variety of helpful workshops.

Scheduling An Appointment

The ASC offers free assistance by appointment and on a walk-in basis. Please note that walk-ins are subject to tutor availability. Tutoring is available face-to-face on the New Bern and Havelock Campus, and online with a campus tutor.

Policy

A student, except one who is enrolled in an Allied Health Program with specific course repeat limitations, may repeat a course in which she/he has received a grade of "C" or lower no more than two times. In computing the student's cumulative grade point average, the higher grade earned for repeated courses will be used.

Purpose

A course repeat option provides students with an opportunity to retake a course to improve their understanding of the course content and improve their grade for the course.
