Students repeating courses taken at the University of Calgary will not have the original grade, failure or otherwise, removed from the transcript of record. The transcript of record will indicate both the original grade and the repeated course with its final grade in the term in which it was taken.

Talk to Your Instructor If you missed the exam and have an excuse, you'll likely be allowed to make up the missed test. By when must I attempt the Upper Division Writing Proficiency Exam (UDWPE)? Undergraduate students are encouraged to attempt the UDWPE as early as possible after completing 56 units and meeting the lower division writing requirement. Students must take the UDWPE no later than the semester in which 75 units are completed. Students who have not taken the UDWPE by completion of the 75 units will have a registration hold placed on their subsequent registration. Students who need to submit an appeal for extension of time to satisfy the UDWPE requirement should visit the Office of Undergraduate Studies . Please note that the Nazarian College of Business and Economics requires passage of the UDWPE prior enrollment in 400-level major courses.
How often should I meet with my advisor? Students may meet with an advisor every semester. However, it is highly recommended that you touch base with an advisor at least once a year. If you are experiencing academic difficulty or need to talk to someone about other issues, please schedule an appointment as soon as possible.
Although it is the responsibility of students to drop classes, the University may withdraw students within the first three weeks from a course if they fail to meet the prerequisite (s) or other requirements as indicated in this Catalog.
Syllabus Policy. To better inform students about the requirements, content, and methodology of the university’s curricula, all faculty teaching classes will distribute a written syllabus to each student in the class and/or post it online no later than the first class meeting.
