You may repeat a course only if you received a grade of D+, D, D-, F, or no pass (NP) in your first attempt of the course. You can only repeat a course one time to replace a grade. Grades in third attempts of a course will not be calculated into your GPA, but will be shown on your transcript.
Undergraduates: A course load of 15 units per semester is considered a normal undergraduate course load, and you are expected to enroll in at least 15 units. Graduate Students: A course load of 12 units per semester is considered a normal, full-time graduate course load.
You are required to take a minimum of 13 units each semester, unless you have an approved Reduced Course Load (RCL), which allows you to take fewer than 13 units.
Interested students may apply to the public health major once. We do not accept reapplicants. Thus, it is important to make your application as strong as possible.
Typically, students take two courses for their major requirements and one course to satisfy other college and university requirements. In addition to these three classes, we recommend an enrichment course such as a Freshman Seminar, Berkeley Connect, or a DeCal.
Maintaining Your Eligibility For financial aid purposes, 12 units per semester is considered full-time enrollment. Enrollment for less than 12 units per term may reduce your eligibility for certain types of aid.
Customarily students enroll in 13-17 units per semester. You may request to take fewer than 13 units per semester only if you have certifiable health-related challenges or are enrolled in the Disabled Students Program. You must maintain a minimum āCā average (2.0 grade-point average) while at UC Berkeley.
UC Policy requires that students be enrolled full-time. Under certain circumstances students may be allowed by their college to enroll in a reduced course load. However, that does NOT grant reduced tuition & fees.
Full-time Enrollment Requirements Colleges may require more than 12 units to be considered full-time (e.g. Letters & Sciences full-time = 13 units or more). Full time enrollment for graduate students is 12 units or the number of units required by the department for all graduate students in the program.
One application. Students may apply to as many UC undergraduate campuses as they like with just one application. Each of their chosen campuses will receive the same application.
(Junior transfer students and change of college admits are not eligible to apply for a double major.) You are making acceptable progress in your current major. Your Program Planning Form includes all course and unit requirements for both majors.
You can only declare your second major after you get to the UC. It is not part of the application process, which assigns you to one major (unless you are undeclared at UCSD).May 22, 2017
