Most of golf’s governing bodies like the USGA and the PGA Tour prohibit the use of carts in their events. Their view is that physical stamina is an important aspect of the competition, so players are required to walk. The PGA responded by lifting its “no cart” rule for all of the players playing in the third stage.
No matter how you choose to play the game, golf is a good exercise that is good for the body and mind. While walking the course will naturally offer a better workout, even riding from shot to shot in a golf cart is a better option than sitting in front of a TV all day.
