Consider making the course available several weeks before the semester begins to provide students access to your syllabus, including required textbooks and technology requirements.
In the Course Details tab, scroll down to the Participation box. You should see the term Start and End text boxes just below it that indicate when your published course will become accessible to your enrolled students. If the start date needs to be adjusted, click the Participation drop-down menu and select Course.

They can start the process to update Campus Connection. Once Campus Connection has been changed, Blackboard will automatically be updated within 24 hours. If you see the class in Campus Connection but do not see it in Blackboard, you can check your course list settings to see if it was hidden from view.

The Course Merge copies the student enrollments from one or more "child" courses into a "parent" course. Course merge can be used to: Merge enrollments of two or more sections of the same course that have the same department and catalog number. Merge cross-listed courses that have different departments and catalog numbers.
Reasons Not to Merge Blackboard Courses: Course Merge will combine the Grade Center listing for all the students. If you require separate Grade Centers do not use Course Merge. This may apply if you teach both undergraduate and graduate sections of a course and they are graded differently.

Your courses are not automatically listed in Blackboard; you must request your courses to be able to build them.
You can access all of your courses from the current and previous semesters by clicking Courses at the left of the page. Use the Current Courses drop down menu to select the appropriate term. Fall courses will be listed under Upcoming Courses until the start date.
All courses start in the default Original Course View, but you can choose to switch to the newer Ultra Course View. The Ultra Course View is cleaner and more modern than the Original Course View. You will only receive the daily digest email if there was activity in at least one of your courses.

Your course roster may change during drop/add, which means that students not yet registered for your course will only be able to retroactively access your message if you use the Canvas Announcements tool.
