What is the AHA BLS course?

The AHA BLS Instructor Online Course is geared towards anyone passionate about CPR, as well as those looking for a career change. It is recommended that BLS Instructor candidates have a strong understanding of BLS Provider prior to attempting to join this course. The AHA BLS Online Instructor Course requires no formal medical background; individuals such as police officers, yoga instructors and even lifeguards can make a career out of it! AHA Instructor Candidates must have purchased the required materials such as the AHA BLS Instructor Manual, as well as completing the AHA Online BLS Instructor essentials. ACLS EDU conducts BLS Instructor Courses online via Zoom and the courses are also instructor-led. This makes it feel like you are in the classroom, with live feedback from your instructor for questions and correction. Rental equipment is available and Instructor candidates are encouraged to have their own equipment. The first portion of the BLS Instructor Online called "Didactic'' will have potential instructors use their instructor manuals quite a bit. Instructors candidates get to practice setting up the room, as well as choose the visual aids to use, such as videos or posters. The first portion also explains how to storyboard, interact with students, and use the Program Administration Manual. Potential instructors are also informed they must be monitored teaching a course in the future and upon so, the BLS Instructor Course completion card will be issued, which is valid for 2 years from the monitoring date. The second part of the course covers "Record Keeping and Compliance", which is also presented via Zoom. Instructor candidates must have computer and internet access for this section, as they may be required to confirm alignment status, purchasability of ecards, and more.
