The USAES requests that the Regiment provide maximum support across the operational force by providing Horizontal Construction Engineer Supervisors in the rank of SGT through SFC and Quarrying Specialist in the rank of SGT and SSG, as well as MSGs in MOS 12X with a Horizontal Construction Engineer background to serve as voting members on the board. NCOs with operational experience are preferred, but not necessary. The USAES encourages commands that have regular interaction with Horizontal Construction Engineer Supervisors or Quarrying Specialist and have concerns or questions to send representatives. These Marines make both organizational and intermediate level repairs. These repairs are on engineer and general supply equipment electrical systems. Some repair tasks may include soldering connections or replacing wires, malfunctioning apparatus and any components. They will both create and repair circuits.
To enter into this MOS recruits must first take the ASVAB test and score at least a 105 on the Mechanical Maintenance (MM) portion plus a 100 on Electronics (EL).
