59 years old - Smoked since I was 12-13 years old (6th) grade I've quit twice using Chantix. It eliminated the feeling of getting a fix (no nicotine lift). I started by going 0.5, 1.0, and then 2.0 mgs during the first three days. On the two or three bad days I had I took 2.5 mg. I had very few craves, most were mild. I was amazed at how easy it was to quit cold turkey. I quit cold turkey on day 2. I knew better to never cheat or rationalize that one cigarette idea.

I am smoke free but horribly nauseous every morning. So I have to decide between smoking and being nauseous to the point of throwing up. My mood has been stable and fortunately I have not had any lucid dreams. I don’t know pick and choose your battle I guess. I am apparently the rare person who LOVED Chantix. I did have some depression during the first couple weeks but knew it was the drug. I got a very upset stomach if I took it on an empty stomach but I learned to take it after food. Other than that, I enjoyed it. The dreams were awesome for me.

I just finished the first 28-day course. It didn't do a thing for me except upset my stomach greatly. The frequency of my smoking and my cravings haven't diminished one bit. So on day 9 and as of yesterday have not had a cigarette. Been smoking since I was 18 am now 63, I like smoking didn't want to quit but my Dr said just try this it's only for a month. So I started ,the first week I smoked normally only less the second week I noticed that I was only taking 3 or 4 puffs and tossing the cigarette.
