A Course in Miracles, short ACIM, is the most powerful mind training course I have ever done. The minimum duration of the course is 365 – so a full year. Most people take much longer though. It took me about 14 months.

Mar 10, 2011 · The miracle is that brief moment – just a flash – when we realize that our interests and the interest of another are identical. So much understanding and love can flow from that seeing! It brings a real clarity, a real direction. So the Course points beyond itself.
Through him, in November of that year, I met Jerry Jampolsky, Judy and Bob Skutch, still married at that time, and the several others to whom I fondly refer as the ‘first family” of A Course In Miracles. Beginning in 1979, Bill and Jerry and I, often accompanied by others, presented a number of day-long or weekend workshops on the Course.
Answer (1 of 19): I’m greatly indebted to my experience with ACIM for a deeper understanding of spiritual truth. ACIM resonates with Advaita Vedanta and American transcendentalism. ACIM also contains references to Jesus and the Holy Spirit, just so …
Answer (1 of 10): Yes. I’ve been studying it since it was only available in a 3 volume, hardcover edition in the latter 70s. A coworker kept bugging me to read it. I wouldn’t, because on a bookstore clerk’s wages, I couldn’t afford it, even with an employee discount. One day, he said someone I …

A Course in Miracles – often abbreviated ACIM or simply called the Course – is a complete self-study spiritual thought system. As a three-volume curriculum consisting of a Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers, it teaches that the way to universal love and peace—or remembering God—is by undoing guilt through forgiving others. The Course thus focuses on the healing of relationships and making them holy. A Course in Miracles also emphasizes that it is but one version of the universal curriculum, of which there are “many thousands.” Consequently, even though the language of the Course is that of traditional Christianity, it expresses a non-sectarian, non-denominational spirituality. A Course in Miracles, therefore, is a universal spiritual teaching, not a religion.
The miracle is defined as the shift in perception from fear to love. The Workbook for Students consists of 365 lessons, an exercise for each day of the year. This one-year training program begins the process of changing the student’s mind and perception, though it is not intended to bring one’s learning to completion.
Everything Is Love. If you take away only one idea from the book, it should be that everything is love. Everything in the universe is an expression of divine love. This love can take a number of different forms, but it is all part of the fundamental energy of joy-bliss-love-light, which permeates all.
Not only is everything fundamentally an expression of love, but everything is interconnected. This energy has a number of different names, but ultimately can be conceived as a divine presence or divine unity. Since this love is all-encompassing — God is ALL THAT IS — you, too, are a part of this energy.
You are probably not used to thinking of yourself as God, nor are you used to thinking that everything is love. After all, you can point to clear examples of hatred or fear in your world, and perhaps even in your own life.
Atonement is the Process of Learning to Love. Fortunately, you are learning how to see this energy, and are learning how to recognize yourself as a part of God. This does not have to be a religious idea in the traditional Christian sense. Christ is a metaphor for the idealized version of yourself, who responds only with love.
Sin is judgment based in fear, and your atonement is your process of learning to love in the same way that Christ does. As you learn to experience more love, you learn to move without judgment, forgive others, and lead a more peaceful, compassionate life.
A Miracle Is The Choice To Love Rather Than Fear. Lastly, recognize that you are making this choice of atonement every day. A miracle, according to the course, is simply the act of choosing to respond with unconditional love. There is no order of difficulty in this, which simply means there are no large or small miracles.
This course is offered freely as a companion guide to A Course In Miracles. It provides insights, guidance, meditations, and exercises that will help you to apply the ideas of A Course In Miracles to your life.
Nothing I see in this room (on this street, from this window, in this place) means anything.
God’s name is holy, but no holier than yours. To call upon His Name is but to call upon your own. God Himself is incomplete without me. God and man are not separated. The writings teach that God and His creation are one. If you are part of one you must be part of the other, because they are one.
The Kingdom of heaven is the dwelling place of the Son of God, who left not his Father and dwells not apart from Him. Heaven is neither a place nor condition. It is merely the awareness of perfect oneness, and the knowledge that there is nothing else, nothing outside this oneness, and nothing else within.
Do not make the pathetic error of ‘clinging to the old rugged Cross’. The only message of the crucifixion is that you can overcome the Cross. Until then you are free to crucify yourself as often as you choose. This is not the Gospel I intended to offer you.
Marianne Williamson, who has fashioned herself after Helen Shucman and her Course in Miracles attempts to personalise an impersonal God who is an energy or force she calls love. “The love in one of us is the love in all of us. There’s actually no place where God stops and you start, and no place where you stop and I start.
One of the themes of the New Age is the reference to Jesus and Christ as being separate from each other. Jesus was one who embodied the Christ consciousness, the attitude of complete love and forgiveness, better than anyone else.
The Christ consciousness is a goal or an indwelling spirit to be obtained – not a separate God to be worshipped.
The special thing about Jesus is that he was a perfect vehicle for the ‘Christ’. But we can do just as he did. Jesus fully ‘accepted’ Christ, and so can we! The concept of a divine, or ‘Christ’ mind, is the idea that, at our core, we are not just identical, but actually the same being.
A Course in Miracles shines the light of greater awareness on guilt and, step by step, gently but firmly, dismantles this joy-killer. Every day, find more and more reasons for your innocence, and you’ll be well on the road to freedom.
1 It’s not natural. No human being, or any living thing, is born with guilt. It is a learnt response; passed down from generation to generation like a dark, heavy, ill-fitting cloak. Innocence, freedom and inner peace are our natural state. All else – especially guilt – is an anomaly to our true essence. Deep enduring happiness abides within you, ...
Every thought you think, word you speak, and action you take proceeds from either your true nature or a distorted illusion. Innocence and guilt, peace and upset, healing and illness all spring from that one fundamental choice. At various times during the day, especially if you become upset or you face a challenging situation or decision, ...
When you judge others, you become susceptible to judgements, both your own and theirs. When you release others from the burden of your opinions, you release yourself. Consider one person you’ve criticised, and identify the trait or action from which you formed an opinion of them.
It can touch me not’. The only place the yesteryear lives is in your mind. The events that occurred matter less than how you think about them now. We’ve all made mistakes. What we do with them determines our current experience. If you keep going over your mistake s, they rule your life. If you bless them for their teachings and find ways to look at them that bring you peace, they become your friend.
Your happiness does not detract from the good of others; it only adds to it. When you are at peace with yourself, you uplift everyone you meet by the energy you express. Keep choosing in harmony with your joy, and you will attract success for yourself and stimulate others to achieve theirs.
