You must spend a minimum of seven (7) hours studying the online hunter safety course approved by the International Hunter Education association, but you can take more time if you wish. A. The traditional California Hunter Education Course is about 12 hours in length and is usually given over a number of weeknights and/or weekends. With the online hunter safety course, you can do the bulk of the course work from home.
Every hunter in Texas (including out-of-state hunters) born on or after Sept. 2, 1971, must successfully complete hunter education. Minimum age for certification is 9 years and cost is $15.
Students must successfully pass a written test consisting of 100 multiple-choice questions. Students must attend all classes. Students need to bring their Social Security Number and a #2 pencil to the class.
According to Missouri law, all hunters who were born on or after January 1, 1967, or who are 16 years of age or older, or who will use a firearm to hunt alone, must complete hunter education certification in order to hunt in Missouri.
There are some exemptions from the hunter education requirements in Texas. The exceptions are as follows: Those born before September 2, 1971. Hunters from the age of 9-16, who are accompanied by a properly certified adult of at least 17 who is licensed to hunt in Texas or is exempt.

Persons born on or after January 1 1969 must have proof of a valid hunter safety education certification in order to hunt in Tennessee. The minimum certification age in Tennessee is 9 years old. Proof of certification must be on your person at all times when hunting within the state.
Trail carry — With the trail carry, the firearm is gripped in one hand allowing the other to be free. This carry should only be used when hunting alone or when others aren't in front of or to the side of you. Cradle carry — Similar to the two-handed carry, the firearm has two points of contact.
You must be at least 11 years of age to receive Missouri Hunter Education Certification. If you are 10 years of age or younger, you may hunt during a firearms hunting season only if you are in the immediate presence of a properly qualified adult mentor.
Missouri residents age 15 or under may hunt wildlife (except deer or turkey) without a permit if they have a hunter education card. Youth who do not have a hunter education card must hunt in the immediate presence of a licensed adult hunter. The adult hunter must have a hunter education card.
