When will my courses show up in Canvas? During busy enrollment periods (e.g., weeks before semester begins or first day of the semester) it may take up to 24 hours for the enrollment to show up in Canvas. Prior to the first day of the semester your courses will be listed under Future Enrollments.
To see your Future Enrollments in Canvas, click the Courses link on the left-hand side then select All Courses at the bottom. Scroll to the bottom of the All Courses page to see the Future Enrollments list.
Changes made to enrollments in the registration system (Banner) will be synchronized to Canvas every 2 hours - so expected at least a 2 hour delay before changes are reflected in Canvas.
Changes made by a registrar are not immediately processed into Canvas. Canvas is updated every 2 hours.
Official academic course sites are created in Canvas automatically and enrollments in the sites are managed by the official enrollment data in the registration system (Banner). Official enrollments (Instructors/Students/Auditors) are all managed by the registration system and can only be modified by a school/departmental registrar in Banner.
Yale Course Search's Registration Worksheet restricts students from adding more than 5.5 credits to the worksheet. The Canvas Worksheet restricts students from adding more than 10 courses to the worksheet. Make sure that you have not reached the maximum course load before you add the course to one of your worksheets.
The Canvas Dashboard page has three different views you can choose from. The most common view is Card View which displays your courses as "cards" that you can click on. The other 2 views ( List View and Recent Activity) do not show your courses on the Dashboard, so if you choose one of these views, you will need to click the Courses button [A] ...
Contact your instructor or departmental registrar and ask them to manually add you to your course site with the Guest Student role until the your enrollment has been resolved in the registration system.

However, once a semester has officially ended, the Canvas course moves into the Past Enrollments section of Canvas.
Age of the site - Penn has a five-year retention policy for Canvas sites.
Students: You courses will appear on your Dashboard when two conditions are met. One, the course has been published by your instructor. Two, the term has started. Your instructor can make the course available early by changing the course dates.
If there are no gold stars then Canvas will display all courses listed within above the Past Enrollments section.
In addition, Canvas includes tools tips to describe certain thing on the screen. Hovering your mouse over the stars will tell you why you can or cannot star a course.
Only your current courses can be added or removed from your Dashboard. The list of those courses appear above Past Enrollments. Any courses from Past Enrollments and below can not be starred.
Instructors: Due to frequent requests, Canvas course shells automatically appear on instructor’s dashboards several terms before they begin. Course shells can be hidden from the dashboard as desired using the instructions below.
If you just recently registered or added a course, please allow at least four hours for the course to show up in your Canvas account. The time it takes from when you register to the time it will show up in Canvas is not immediate.
Step 2: If updating the app and the operating system does not resolve the issue, delete and reinstall the Canvas Student App.
To contact the Canvas Help Desk regarding missing courses in Canvas, please submit a ticket through the tech support page and select Canvas Support from the department drop-down list.
To check the start date of your course: Log into Self-Service from the top of the www.stanly.edu website. Click on Student Planning. Click on Plan & Schedule. If you need help, you also have the option to call the Eagle's One Stop at 704-991-0123 and have them check your course start dates.
Also, please consider if it's a 16-week, 12-week, 8-week, or 4-week course. If you have multiple courses, some courses may be missing until their start date.
