Anyone in the community can register for Summer academic-credit classes so long as course requirements are met. Choose from three separate sessions: May 28-Aug. 20; May 28-July 9; and July 10-Aug.
12 weeksSummer Session 1 (12 weeks) and Session 2 (first 6 weeks): Classes begin for Sessions 1 and 2 on Tuesday, June 1. Self-service late registration continues through Friday, June 11. Departments may have added new courses and sections, so check Class Search.
Students wishing to completely withdraw from the University prior to or during the first 20 days of instruction may do so without academic penalty. Students who officially withdraw after classes begin will owe a prorated tuition-fee amount.
Enrollment Protection is a program to limit PARTICIPATING MEDICAL GROUP's risk with respect to any individual Member who requires Capitation Services in excess of the limit of liability per individual Member per calendar year, as set forth in Article VIII, ENROLLMENT PROTECTION, below.
Have a 2021-2022 financial aid application on file with the Financial Aid & Scholarship Department. If you already completed a 2021-2022 FAFSA or CA Dream application, you do not need to submit another one for summer aid. Submit all required documents as listed in your To-Do List.
In Fall semester, 2021, we are transitioning many classes back to campus. Many classes remain fully online as well. Please note the class location (LOC) in the schedule of classes to see whether any on-campus meetings are required.
CSUN prepares to transition classes online in response to COVID-19. Officials at CSUN have announced that it will be joining nine other CSUs in delaying in-person instruction for the spring semester.
Talking to your professor in person (either after class or at office hours) is usually best, but you can also send an email if you need to. Ask your professor if you have a chance of passing/getting a C or above in their class, and if so, what you would have to accomplish in order to make that happen.
Undergraduate students may take an individual course no more than three times. Only one repeat per course is permitted for improving the grade, with the higher of the two grades counted in the student's GPA.

The “CSU Fully Online Courses” Program allows eligible matriculated students at any CSU campus to enroll in one fully-online course per term at any other CSU campus to provide access to the classes they need to graduate. Students are enrolled at their home campus and a host campus at the same time.
The California State University International Programs (CSU IP) offers opportunities for full-time students to pursue their studies abroad at affiliated host institutions in one of 18 countries. CSU IP participants are concurrently enrolled at CSUN, where they earn resident academic credit for their overseas studies.
The Early Start Program is offered by all California State University (CSU) campuses for admitted first-time freshmen needing additional academic support to better prepare for college-level course work in mathematics/quantitative reasoning and/or written communication during the summer before their first year of college. The goal of Early Start is to increase students’ readiness to successfully complete a college degree.
California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is a participating member of the Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE), a program of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).
Concurrent Enrollment. Undergraduate students may be simultaneously registered at CSUN and another accredited institution if the combined enrollment does not exceed 16 units. Students enrolling concurrently should be aware of the policies govern ing acceptance of transfer credits.

CSUN does not require proof of English-Language Proficiency if the student earned a degree outside the U.S., where English is the principal language of instruction.
