Most of the Crash Course videos are very accurate. However, in an effort to simplify content, some of the Crash Course Kids videos miss the mark. In "Vegetation Transformation," the video specifically states that carbon dioxide and water are turned into energy in sugar.

I think that crash course has very high production values and it's very well made. Anything that will pique curiosity is very welcome in my mind. The issue is that it is very fact based, and perhaps there is some significant cultural differences between education systems. Fact based learning is quite shallow learning.

Chemistry is considered very hard. In fact, Chemistry is considered one of the most difficult subjects in College. Some of the more advanced chemistry courses (like Physical Chemistry) have been determined to be the hardest classes in College. Period.
Looking at it from a big-picture perspective, I'd say the one tremendous difference you'll find in organic chemistry is that it is very qualitative. It is more difficult because all you really get in high school is an introduction. You get a sampling of some details (what is organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, concentrations, functions of certain classes of biomolecules, orbitals) and when you get to university, it all expands rapidly.
