The Basic RiderCourse (BRC) consists of: A 3-hour on-line eCourse that you complete on your own. At least 10 hours of hands-on riding instruction. It is so complete that it has been recognized by the New York State DMV as an option to the on-street Motorcycle Road Test.

If you’ve heard the call of the open road and decided to begin riding a motorcycle, moped, or scooter, you may want to first enroll in a safety course. A motorcycle safety course is designed for new drivers, or as a refresher course for those that may not have ridden in a while.
That said, most people are usually able to learn the basics of motorcycle riding in a day and achieve their CBT certificate so that they can continue practising for a few months before they take their licence test.
Our A2 Motorcycle training courses in London are typically run over 3 days. This allows us suffiecient time to train you to pass both the Module 1 & Module 2 practical tests.
If you took training before each licence test, you'd need to allow 3 – 5 days for the licence training and a half-day for the test. This would mean you'd spend around 13 – 21 days in motorcycle training and four days testing over the five years of moving from CBT to full A licence.
If you have held a full A1 licence for at least two years then you can upgrade to an A2 licence by passing the two-part practical test, without taking your theory again. 24 years of ageThere is no automatic upgrades of licence - if you wish to move up to a full (A) licence you will need to retake the module 1 and 2 tests on an unrestricted 600cc bike when you have reached 24 years of age or held the A2 licence for 2 years. A1 - aged 17 years plus you may take your test on a 125cc bike.
You can ride up to 125cc with a valid CBT certificate. (or a full motorcycle licence category A) A 250cc motorcycle will required a full motorcycle licence. Up to February 1983 learner motorcycle riders could ride motorcycles with an engine capacity up to 250cc.

The Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF Basic RiderCourse (BRC) Hawaii edition is approved for use by the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) for Motorcycle Rider Education.
