In addition to demanding accuracy, Erin Hills requires that you hit it fairly long (relative to the tees you're playing). There are several holes – some obvious, some less so – where you'll be faced with long, blind approaches if you don't smash your drive.
The website for Erin Hills says to plan on a 4 hour, 55 minute round, and when the wind is blowing—and it often is—the walk can feel even more exhausting.
Again, keep in mind that you normally won't tip a starter, especially at a private club, and certainly no tip is expected of you. But if your local public course is badly backed up on a Sunday morning a $10-$20 tip may just go a long way in getting your round to commence at an earlier time.

Erin Hills stretches to a whopping 7,735 yards, a true major championship test, compared to Mayacama's seemingly short 6,787 yards - almost a full 1,000 yards shorter. But it's not that simple. Despite the yardage disparity, I took more steps at Mayacama than Erin Hills, according to my Fitbit.
