The Korpa golf course is 6.185 meters (6.800 yards) par 72 from the back tees. The course has its own unique characteristics. The front nine holes are played along the Atlantic Ocean while the back nine are played along the Korpa river. Many beautiful holes are on the course. Each player must tackle the challenge that this course brings in his own way. Bear in mind that the most innocuous looking holes are usually the ones that will punish you the most. A lot of trees have been planted around the course and every year they come more and more in play. The course has a beautiful layout and is becoming more and more stunning every year.
The Reykjavík Golf Club decided to build a new 18 hole golf course at Kopulfsstadir in 1993 to cope with increasing demand for membership. The Korpa course was designed by Iceland´s premier golf course architect, Hannes Thorsteinsson. There had been a small 12 hole course on the land for a number of years where members could play. Everything went according to plan and in July of 1996 play started on nine holes at Korpa. A year later the whole 18 holes were opened. The Korpa golf course was formerly opened in July 1997 when it held the national championships. The city council allocated the east end of the historic Korpulfstadir building for the golf club. Today, the club´s offices, indoor practice facilities, restaurant, pro shop and locker rooms are all located in the east end of that impressive building.

There has been a great increase in the number of golfers in Iceland in recent years. The sport´s popularity is always on the rise. At Reykjavik Golf Club in the mid 1990´s, the Grafarholt course could no longer handle the great number of golfers playing there every day.

Driving around the Ring Road. Driving Time: 13-17 hours round trip assuming you only stop for gas. Of course, you’ll be doing more than just making pit stops to fill up the tank, but this should give you a good idea of the size and scope of driving around Iceland.

The golf course is located in southern part of Iceland about 1 hour drive from Reykjavík. At Borg, abot 5 minutes drive from Kiðjaber there is a shop and a swimming pool. The nearest town is Selfoss, which is about 20 minutes drive from the golf course and there you can find grocery stores, ATMs and a swimming pool.
Kidjaberg golf course is located in the southern part of Iceland about 1 hour drive from Reykjavík. The course is set in a very picturesque landscape between the river Hvitá and lake Hestvatn .
Successful playing of the golf course involves careful game plan, where the player with high handicap can take advantage of the moderate length of the course while the low handicap player must find the relatively small greens and at times negotiate the wind, which can have different direction on neighbouring, holes due to the dramatic landscape. Any drive finding fairway is rewarded, while a drive beyond the semi-rough is a formidable test of any player, as the rough nature offers no guarantee of neither good lie nor easy stance.
