GolfPass members will be automatically awarded 25% more GolfNow and TeeOff Rewards points for booking rounds of golf through GolfNow.com, TeeOff.com or the GolfNow mobile app. Points are awarded for Hot Deals and paid transaction fees.
The service at the GolfNow website has gotten worse & worse and now they have raised their booking fee to $3. 49! That is rediculous. They have taken away their reward of waiving the booking fee after 10 bookings, their service sucks, and now they raise the booking fee. That amounts to almost an extra $15. 00 to a foursome booking.
Consumers complaining about GolfNow most frequently mention tee time, customer service and hot deal problems.GolfNow ranks 64th among Golf Other sites. How would you rate GolfNow? “Golfnow VIP is Great!”
For rounds to qualify toward GolfNow Rewards points, a round must be booked while signed into a registered GolfNow account and becomes valid after the play date. Rounds booked during Guest Checkout are not eligible.
The Course Rating is calculated from the effective playing length and obstacle factors for 9 or 18 designated holes. The Course Rating is expressed in strokes to one decimal point and represents the expected score for a scratch player. The Bogey Rating represents the expected score for a bogey player.
A par-72 course that is easy might have a course rating of 68.9; one that is difficult might have a course rating of 74.5. That means that a scratch golfer should be expected to average 68.9 strokes in his better rounds at the easier course; and 74.5 at the more difficult one.
So, while the par for a particular course might be 72, a course rating of 70.1 would indicate that a scratch golfer should be almost two under par on average. This indicates that the course is actually easier than an average course and allows the player to factor this difficulty into their handicap (and their ego).
Can I get a refund on a tee time that I purchased with my GolfNow Gift Card? All tee time sales are final. They are non-cancelable and non-refundable. If your greens fees are due at the golf course, we will cancel your reservation only if the golf course gives us approval to do so.
The Course Rating is designed to assign a numerical value to represent the difficulty of the course for a scratch golfer. This number is calculated by measuring the fairways, inspecting the bunkers, measuring the size and contours of the greens, determining the distance to hazards and out of bounds locations, etc.
What does slope rating mean on a golf course? The slope rating of a golf course is a mathematical measure of the difficulty of the golf course. Slope rating takes into account the USGA par rating of the course as well as the expected score of a higher handicap golfer.
Using equitable stroke control (the maximum score you can take on a hole for posting purposes), a player takes his adjusted gross score and subtracts the course rating. Multiply that number by 113 (slope rating of a course of standard difficulty), and divide by the slope rating of the tees played.
It is always a number between 55 and 155, with 113 being the "standard" slope. You calculate slope rating by finding the bogey rating, which is like the course rating, but measured for a bogey golfer. Then subtract the course rating from that figure. Then multiply that figure by 5.381 for men and 4.24 for women.
Slope ratings are calculated as a multiple of the difference between the expected good score for a bogey golfer (handicap in the range 20 to 24), called the bogey rating, and the expected good score for a scratch golfer (zero handicap), called the USGA Course Rating.
If requested, rain checks are available if any of the following occur: The course closes. It has been raining for 30 minutes and the golfer chooses not to continue (see #5) If the greens have flooded.
But what happens if a player does miss their tee time? Rule 5.3a states that golfers must tee off at the exact time of their allotted tee time, no earlier or no later. If a golfer tees off less than five minutes early, they receive a general penalty, which is two strokes.
Typically, most golf courses won't close when it's raining unless the deluge is heavy enough to render the fairways and greens unplayable, or if the conditions pose any physical risk to competitors. If water begins pooling on the course or lightning is present, play will almost always be halted.
However, some golf courses may choose to make their tee times available 30 to 90 days in advance or further depending on their business practices.
When you click on a tee time and select the number of players, the tee time is put on hold for five (5) minutes. This allows time to complete the booking process. If you do not complete the process, the tee time will be removed from hold and reappear on the website.

Closure is at the discretion of the golf course, not the golfer. To be eligible to receive a refund if the course is closed, you must still have the tee time reservation on the day of play. Hot Deals reservations are non-refundable once your round has begun.
To add an additional player to your tee time you must book another reservation for the same tee time (subject to availability). Prices for tee times can vary and are not guaranteed to be the same as the price at which the original tee time reservation was made.
GolfNow credits can be used as a form of payment, and they can be split to be used toward multiple transactions (if there is a remaining balance). Additionally, GolfNow credits may be used in combination with Promo Codes or Rewards Codes toward your reservation.
As a result, some golf courses can be found on the course exclusion list, meaning that some Promo Codes and Rewards Codes cannot be used at those courses.
Now that Golfnow is charging $199 per year, what's your experience been just calling the courses vs using Golfnow? Do you recoup the $199 if you use Golfnow?
I have found a couple of discrepancies between the normal rates of the course and what golfnow charges. Hotdeals are better rates, but why pay golfnow a fee. Most courses have a golfnow type technology on their website anyway.
I'd call the course...last time I used golfnow we booked a course that unbeknownst to me was effectively closed, old silo Kentucky now perma closed. The club house had been closed since the previous fall and some maintenance guy came out and took our money, had to pay cash.
I called around to three courses, none of them was close to the Golfnow price for a similar prized tee time, it ranged for $10-20 difference, so if you play a lot Golfnow is probably worth it, especially if you use the Hot Deals.
Golfnow is always cheaper for me. Surprised that some of the courses charge more than the standard golfnow rate. I have called a pro shop on the way to the course asked the price and then end up booking thru golfnow just because they try to charge more. I get the hot deals are more but don’t understand charging more than the regular rate.
The below is true for Hot Deals only. Courses have (or at least used to have) the option of either paying GN a fee to be on their platform or they could allow GN to sell a few times a day as Hot Deals, instead of paying a fee upfront GN keeps all of the revenue from Hot Deals.
If GN is so morally abhorrent, then golf courses should just opt out of using it. Very simple; it's a partnership they agree to.
Unfortunately the course was not in very good shape. The greens had mold on them, the cups were rough around the edges and the fairways were either too wet or too dry throughout most of the course. Not the most enjoyable day of golf we have had. We stopped at the club house for lunch at the turn.
Had to cancel due to me having covid. Still waiting for my refund? Or credit?
Very frustrated when trying to book tee times on popular courses. The tee sign-up sheets weren't populated after midnight on courses that allowed for 7 days advanced booking. Last Wednesday I kept trying until 45 minutes after midnight, and still no joy. Had to settle for a lower tier course.
the listings of the golf courses provide a wide range of options. Once a course is selected, booking the location and time is easy.
If I could give this a zero rating I would. We booked a tee time for one date, but when I got the confirmation email it was for a different date. A mere 3 minutes later I was able to cancel the tee time through GolfNow. We checked with the golf course to make sure the tee time had been canceled and that we would not be charged and they told us yes.
I use Golfnow to find tee times that are not expensive. It gives me specials and saved me time calling pro shops.
Great experience! Loved the ability to book a very good tee time and loved the savings! I will use GolfNow more often in the future - Thank you!
