Scores for candidates who are unsuccessful on the exam are reported on a scale from 200 to 800, and the minimum passing score for the exam is 500.
While the ASCP offers a wide range of professional certifications, all of the tests are scored on a scale from 0-999. A passing score is generally 400, so that's the target number you're looking for.

The continuing education (CE) reporting function within your BOC profile was disabled on Nov. 2, 2020, as part of our recently announced system conversion plan. Track ongoing CE details via an alternative method until the system launches. The BOC has developed a tracking formfor your convenience. This form is for tracking purposes only and you will still be required to record entries (not saved by Nov 1) in the new system upon launch.
There is no cost to use the BOC’s online CE reporting system. There is a $25 processing fee to submit CEUs using a paper CE reporting sheet.
Category B programs include professional and scholarly activities. If you participate in speaking engagements, this activity could be counted once per topic. If an abstract and/or poster is connected to a presentation, CE credit can only be obtained for one activity or the other. If you’d like to use articles, textbooks, abstracts, home study programs and multimedia for your CE requirements, remember they must be published during the reporting period to receive CE credit.

Consistency in how Athletic Trainers identify themselves alleviates confusion and lends credibility to the profession. List academic degrees first, licenses second and credentials last. Here, credentials include BOC certification. For instance, a BOC Certified Athletic Trainer holding a master’s degree and working in a state where licensure is not required should write, “Sally Snow, MS, ATC” – not “ATC, MS.” The same BOC Certified Athletic Trainer working in a state with licensure would correctly write, “Sally Snow, MS, LAT, ATC.” See the illustration for an example.

Some questions will instruct you to choose a single correct answer, other questions will ask you to select all correct options, and some questions may require you to drag and drop answers. Some questions will consist of a given scenario followed by 5 questions related to that scenario. Individuals should read each question carefully to understand the instructions for that particular question.
The registration process begins by creating a profile with BOC Central™ which is found on the website of the Board of Certification for the Athletic Trainer. Once registration is received and approved, the individual will receive a Notice to Schedule email with instructions to schedule the exam.
What is the cost of the exam? A one-time application fee is required. The application fee for NATA members is $35. The fee for non-NATA members is $60. Once the application is approved, an exam fee for first-time candidates and retake candidates is $330.

It costs $50 to $100 to reschedule, and the fee depends on your new test date. Candidates who cancel their exam prior to scheduling the test are eligible for a refund of half (50 percent) of their exam fees; candidates who cancel after they have scheduled the test are eligible to receive 25 percent of their fee.

You have two options for reporting. You can report your hours online via the BOC Central Login at no cost. Alternatively, you can mail in your hours using this form; however, this option comes with a $25 fee. If you go the written route, you will need to submit the form by December 1 to allow time for processing by the December 31 deadline.
BOC CEU renewal occurs on a two-year cycle. BOCs who were licensed in 2020 only worked for one of those years, so they only need to complete a single year’s worth of CE. ATs licensed in 2021 are exempt this year, but will need to complete the 50 CEUs requirement for the next cycle, which ends on December 31, 2023.
An EBP course starts with a clinical question, provides information specific to a particular diagnosis or concern, and has a specific clinical bottom line. The course must also include strong references and address an education gap with current evidence supporting the clinical bottom line.
The current certification period ends on December 31, 2021.
The BOC requires that you maintain ongoing certification in the competencies outlined in the BOC’s emergency cardiac care (ECC) guidelines. Maintaining ECC does not count toward your CEUs. You must also pay your certification maintenance fees. You can find the ECC guidelines and determine how much your fee will be in this BOC document.
