Course Schedule

DAY ONE (FRIDAY) – BIT (basic instructor training). If you have taken the BIT within the past 2 years you do NOT need to attend on Friday and you will save $50. You will have to show us your BIT card. If you can’t find your BIT card you MUST attend Friday.

How long does it take to recertify as a firearm instructor?

To recertify as an NRA Law Enforcement Firearm Instructor, you must submit proof of having obtained a minimum 24 hours of continuing education related to either firearms training or instructor development training any time during the three-year certification period that is expiring.

Is NRA membership required?

NRA Membership Is Required. NRA membership is required to maintain your NRA law enforcement firearm instructor certification. Should your membership expire or lapse during the three-year period of your firearm instructor certification, your certification becomes suspended until such time as your membership is restored in good standing.

NRA Law Enforcement must make a slight increase in Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor School tuition. Effective January 1, 2020, the tuition fee for all of the NRA Law Enforcement Firearm Instructor Schools will be $685.
