When you first launch the Zwift desktop application and pair up your bike's sensors, you'll be presented with a drop-in screen where several ride options will be shown.

Click on the tab with each world name to see a list of people Zwifting there. Anyone you follow will appear in the list below under "Join another Zwifter?". Once you’ve selected a world at the top of the screen, click or tap the blue “Routes” button to open up the “Select Your Route” menu.
The ability to 'turn' on the Zwift application is a relatively new feature (January 2016) and was introduced when the new Ocean Boulevard beach expansion was added to the Watopia course.
There is no option to do multiple routes during one ride, and have Zwift recognise the second route as an official 'Zwift route'.
Choosing where you want to go couldn't be easier. After connecting to Zwift, the Drop-In screen will pop up, and then it's decision time. Whatever Guest World is available will be selected by default, and you'll see a list of Zwifters currently riding there as well as the option to join anyone on that list.

If you haven't yet completed any climbs in Zwift, you will need to ride a few before you unlock the Road to Sky, which is the route the Alpe resides on. You will have to be at least level 6 to access this, so if you're new to Zwift you will have to accrue some miles before seeking out this challenge.

One is always Watopia. The other two are a guest worlds, which rotate among Richmond, London, Innsbruck, Yorkshire and New York.
You’re free to take different turns, or even turn around during your ride. But you’ll need to do more to change a predetermined route. If you’re running Zwift on an iOS or Android device, you can switch your world or default route without exiting the app.
Volcano Circuit is a new 2.8mi/4.2km lap around, and inside of, the new Watopia volcano. This one has a built-in lap counter to count the laps as you complete them. In an organized lap-based event that uses this course the lap counter will count down to the finish.
Prefer Flat Roads strives to keep you as flat as possible, with very little climbing around Richmond. This is a modifier version of the 2015 UCI World's course that avoids the Libby Hill and 23rd Street climbs for a relatively easy, flat ride.
London Loop is a 9.2 mile loop that takes you through the city of London before dipping under the Thames River to head out to Surrey Hills for some fresh air and steeper climbing. It bypasses the Classique course entirely.
Method 1: Choose from Route List. Zwifters can manually select a route it from a list of available options within a given map. This is done before you begin your activity: Choose your map/world. Select your route!

The only caveat here is that you must invite at least one follower to your Meetup before the event can be created. So if you’re only creating the Meetup because you’re you’re wanting to ride a particular route, you’ll still need to invite a friend to join you.
ZwiftPower also allows you to filter events by route. if you don’t actually want to participate in the group ride, but just ride the route, you can click to exit the event at any time after it has started. This will keep you on the same route, but remove you from the group ride.
Zwifters have been using this option for years, and even though Zwift has made it easier than ever whichever route we’d like for a given sessions, sometimes world hacking is the easiest way to get it done. This solution is quite easy on Mac and PC, but more of a hassle on Android and iOS.
Simply leave the keyboard alone to continue to ride the pre-selected route, or override those turns by using your keyboard arrows or the "Turn Left" or "Turn Right" buttons on the Zwift Mobile Link app to move around the various turns on your route. If you want to turn around, you can use the 'down' arrow on the keyboard.
You can choose to ride with someone else already on the course, you can choose to ride one of the canned or custom workouts or you can choose to ride one of the pre-set routes within Zwift. If you choose one of those routes, it will present you with an option to turn in different directions when you come up upon an intersection in Zwift.
You can also turn while riding in the Zwift desktop application, if you have a keyboard handy. When you're approaching an intersection, you'll see a blinking sign on the side of the road indicating the direction of the next turn. It will look something like this:
