To create your own course, log in on web, click the Courses tab at the top of your homepage and select Create a course. Memrise is much better for learning and remembering individual words or phrases. Duolingo is much better for learning how to construct sentences. I love how both platforms make it super easy to get started and do a little bit each day.

Memrise is excellent for studying and reviewing vocabulary but it doesn't do much beyond that. Babbel is well-thought-out, the price is affordable, but it's not the most unique or exciting course around. It's worth noting that there are plenty of other language learning apps available that may be a better fit for you.Feb 6, 2020
Memrise is a worthwhile app for studying languages, particularly for beginners who are learning new characters and basic vocabulary. The fact that it's more than just a flashcard app keeps it engaging. And the free tier of service is ample. You never feel like you're hitting a paywall.Oct 5, 2017
Although Memrise won't make anyone fluent in a new language, most courses can get users to an upper intermediate/advanced level.
Select the course you wish to download, click the Learn tab along the bottom and then tap the download icon in the top right corner. In your app settings, you can choose to only download courses while connected to Wi-Fi.
