The academic year at St Andrews is split into two semesters: Martinmas semester and Candlemas semester. The semester system, similar to academic calendars at many universities across the world, makes it easy for students to join the University of St Andrews for either a semester or a full academic year.

With an average acceptance rate of only 8.35%, the University of St. Andrews is one of the most difficult universities to get into not only in the United Kingdom but in the entire globe. This ideally means that around 8-9 people out of 100 applicants get admission at the University of St Andrews.
Mine took about 3 months for a rejection so hopefully yours taking longer is a good sign! It'll be any day now. Oh well, you got into Edinburgh and Glasgow and that's what matters.
Completed applications are considered on a rolling basis from the application opening date until the application deadline. You may normally expect to receive an answer within four weeks of submitting a complete application.
The town of St Andrews is just a perfect place for studying, with little distraction and an outstandingly high quality of life. The campus facilities are great. The union is pretty good too however it does get very repetitive at times so it makes it a bit boring.
St Andrews is currently ranked as the best in the UK for Classics, International Relations, History of Art, Geography, Economics and Physics (Guardian University Guide 2020).

If you hold a conditional offer but don't get the grades to meet it, the university can still accept you – but it's at their discretion. They could also offer you a place on a different course. If no decisions are showing on Track, call the institutions.
It could be a matter of days or months before you hear back from a university about your application, whether that's an offer, invitation to an interview or rejection (hopefully not). It all depends on when you applied and how that university course chooses to make offers.
Interviews usually take place on dates in late November and early December and then in the following January, February and early March. For 2023 entry, interviews are planned to be held both online using Microsoft Teams and in-person in St Andrews.
If you applied through UCAS However, the University receives many more applications from well-qualified applicants than there are places to offer. As a result, we often delay the majority of our decision-making until after this date.
After you have turned in your audit, the Registrar will mail you a graduation audit, a student copy of your transcript and an evaluation of your transfer credits, if you are a transfer student. Fill this out with your advisor and then return it to the Registrar’s Office.
One semester (excluding summer term) or it will be converted to a grade of “F” by the Registrar.
It costs $10.00 to drop the course. Bring the drop slip to the Registrar’s Office for processing. You can then print an updated schedule from your student portal.
The professor will submit a grade for you because you are still on the class roster. In most cases the professor submits an ” F ” .
Summer School graduates will receive by mail their diploma after the third Thursday in August, for Summer graduates, the Thursday after grades are due in December. The Faculty must meet to confer the degree. If you need a letter stating that you completed graduation requirements before the August date for Summer graduates, contact the Registrar’s Office. Graduates are welcome and invited to participate in the Spring Commencement ceremony. Please notify the Registrar if you are planning on attending.
Grades are due for seniors at 10:00 a.m. the Wednesday before graduation. As soon as they are processed, they will be mailed to your campus box. Please do not come into the Registrar’s Office to inquire about them. We will be too busy with graduation and processing to help you. If you do not complete the requirements for graduation, you WILL be notified ahead of time.
If this fails, a grade appeal committee will be formed by the program, department, or division chairperson.

Check your inbox for an email alerting you that you are registered to attend the event. This email will include an 'Accept registration' button.

Grades alone will not guarantee you admission. The University of St Andrews also offers alternative entry routes for applicants who come from areas where we receive limited applications and who are unable to obtain the required grades, or for those who are returning to education after an extended period of time.
Although entry to the University of St Andrews is competitive, we recognise a range of different qualifications and consider all aspects of your application, including context, your personal statement and reference. Grades alone will not guarantee you admission.
