Blackboard’s Course Menu provides users access to a course's content. The menu items and the order in which they appear are fully customizable and can be arranged based upon the preferences and priorities of the faculty member.
If your Blackboard course does not have a Home Page, or if you deleted it and would like to restore it, you can add a Home Page by clicking the + sign in the upper left corner of the Course Menu and selecting Module Page. Once a Home Page link has been added, you can add a variety of modules by clicking on the Add Module button.
The workflows and tools are easy to find and use in the Ultra Course View. Instructors and students need little experience with Blackboard Learn to find and use the tools available to them, but more experienced users may find the Ultra Course View limits their ability to customize their courses. Highlights of the Ultra Course View:
Add Menu Items – Faculty have the option to customize the Course Menu by clicking the "plus" icon (+), which opens up a list of resources that can be added to the Course Menu. Course Menu Action Bar – The icons located across the top of the Course Menu allow users to adjust the view of the menu.
To hide the Course Menu and Control Panel, click the Hide Course Menu [ < ] button. To show the Course Menu, click the Show Course Menu [ > ] button.
If you log into Blackboard Learn and see that your courses are missing it could mean one of several things. Most commonly, students will have a hold on their account and have been temporarily de-registered from their courses. To troubleshoot, please log into myOswego to see if you have any holds on your account.
Once you have logged in to Blackboard, the Global Navigation Menu is always located in the upper right-hand corner of the display.

The navigation menu is located on the left of each course in Blackboard. It contains links to the content areas of your course like Assignments, Announcements, Course Documents and more.
The Control Panel can be found below the Course Menu when you are in a Blackboard course. Here, you can change settings for the course, adjust the look and feel of the course, access the Grade Center, and communicate with students. Students do not see the Control Panel.

To edit the course view for a specific course, edit the course settings. Go to Courses on the Admin Panel and search for the course you want to edit. The Original Course View most closely mirrors the course experience in Blackboard Learn 9.1. This view contains many of the advanced tools and workflows that instructors may be comfortable with. However, other users may find this experience more complicated and difficult to navigate.
You can let instructors choose whether to use the Original Course View or the Ultra Course View. When instructors access their courses for the first time, they appear in the Original Course View, but the system shows them their options and allows them to choose.
The course menu is not available in Ultra Course View. Instead, all content, assessment, and tools are organized in a single list view. We recommend creating Folders or Learning Modules for each week or topic in your course to organize your materials.

To limit the course availability to specific dates, select Select Dates and provide a Start Date and End Date. To limit the course availability to a specific number of days after a student enrolls, select Days from the Date of Enrollment and provide the number of days .
You can set three default images to appear in standard locations in courses. Images are not required for courses to display properly. If you do not set default images and no images are included when a course is created, the course ignores the images areas and displays only the course areas.
Users cannot see, access, or self-enroll in unavailable courses. Allow Guests by Default. To allow unauthenticated users to enroll in the course, select Yes. Settings inside the course can limit what content and tools are available to guests. To prohibit unauthenticated users from enrolling in the course, select No.
You can change the default course settings at any time. These changes apply to new courses created after the change. Existing courses do not update their settings when the default settings change. Any changes made to course settings in an individual course override the default values for that course.
