You can find the class number for a course you're currently enrolled in in your This Week's Schedule box in your BroncoDirect Student Center. The 5-digit number is in the parentheses below the course number and section. Class Search: The tool in your BroncoDirect Student Center that you use to search for classes.
If the class is already in your cart, go to your shopping cart. Click the blue hyperlink of the class you are trying to add. On the right side of the screen, there will be a waitlist if class if full button, and underneath you will see a permission number box. This is where you enter the permission number.
Students must complete a minimum of twelve quarter units of upper division general education which may be taken no sooner than the quarter in which the student achieves upper division status. Search for classes. To search for classes, click on the Search link in the upper left-hand side of your Student Center. In the Class Search, you must select the term and a subject. This will give you the full course offering listing for this subject. To find specific classes, you can put in additional criteria.

To drop a course you're already enrolled in, click on the Drop tab in your Shopping Cart. Select the course (s) you want to drop, and then click on Drop Selected Classes.
Here are a few things to be aware of about waitlisting: You cannot waitlist for a class with a corequisite. You will not be moved off the waitlist for a class if you are already registered in another section. The waitlist is updated hourly through the registration period.
Permission numbers are special “codes” departments or class instructors may choose to issue so you can enroll in the class that the system may be preventing you from enrolling in on your own.
The process to obtain permission varies by the department that offers the course. If you are trying to get a permission number for a course offered outside the College of Engineering, we recommend contacting the instructor and/or department offering the course (use the Cal Poly directory or search their website to find contact information).
If you receive a permission number, you will want to follow the steps outlined in the "Add a Class- with Permission Number demo" on https://registrar.calpoly.edu/student-center/#AddClass to officially enroll in the course.
